Williamstown bayside duo Patsy & Dave, previously recording and performing as the Long And Short Of It, launch their 9TH CD The Willow at the Mantra Studio in Yarraville on Wednesday September 11, 2024.
The duo will be joined at their launch by veteran Australian star and The Willow duet partner Russell Morris, now 76, who is flying down from Queensland for the concert.
Morris’ debut solo single was seven-minute hit The Real Thing in March 1969.
The Real Thing was written by Johnny Young and produced by Molly Meldrum and engineered by John L Sayers.
The backing track was performed by members of Melbourne soul band The Groop which included Brian Cadd, Richard Wright, Don Mudie, Zoot guitarist Roger Hicks and Ronnie Charles.
The Chiffons Maureen Elkner and Marcie and The Cookies Sue Brady and Judy Condon also guested on the Morris hit.
It’s no surprise that Morris was an ideal duet partner for Patsy & Dave on their single and live launch.
Patsy & Dave have frequently appeared on Nu Country TV with their vibrant video clips.
They took our viewers on a joyous trip on their recent Nu Country TV appearance.
They travelled far and wide to find bliss with their backing band who were guests at the wake of our late Vice President Rod Browne at the Pirates Tavern at Steamworks in Williamstown.
The duo visited the Sunnymead Hotel on the Great Ocean Road at Airley’s Inlet before heading to Krabi & Phi-Phi Island in Thailand.
They also played the Mantra Studio Kitchen Bar in Yarraville and recorded their vocals in their Yarraville studio Soggy Records with the music recorded in Nashville and mixed by Kenny Royster
Williamstown lawyer Patsy Toop OAM and Yarraville singer-signwriter Dave Baird have been performing for more than a decade.
They market their music with regular video clips that have won international acclaim.
Their video for Dream Vacation is on The Willow.
