Russell Crowe And Marcia Hines Headline Nu Country TV

Expatriate Australasian singer-songwriter actor and director Russell Crowe and Boston born Australian TV star and singer Marcia Hines headline Nu Country TV on Saturday January 24 at 10 pm on Channel 31/Digital 44.

Whey Jennings – grandson of Jessi Colter who was married to late Texan outlaw Waylon Jennings – and fellow Texan Bri Bagwell return to the show repeated at 1 am on Monday.

North Carolina chanteuse Priscilla Block and Washington born bluegrass country star Zach Top appear on the program filmed, edited and produced by our co-host and producer Laith Graham.

Nu Country TV is a highlight of C 31 streaming list on Digital 44.

Famed singing actor and movie director Russell Crowe headlines our show with a double shot after he opened his world tour with a Sydney concert in December.

Crowe, now 61, is joined by Boston born Australian TV star and singer Marcia Hines, now 72, who won three Queen Of Pop Awards after moving here at 16 and starring in Hair.

They perform Let Your Light Shine before Crowe resurrects Save Me In Siena back in 2024.

Russell was born in Wellington before moving to Australia when he was just four.

Crowe is a celebrated actor and movie director that began with Romper Stomper in 1992, L.A. Confidential in 1997, The Insider in 1999, Gladiator in 2000 and A Beautiful Mind in 2001.

He has been co-owner of National Rugby League team South Sydney Rabbitohs since 2006.

Crowe won an Academy Award, two Golden Globe Awards and British Academy Film Awards for his films that grossed over $5.3 billion.

His music career began with 30 Odd Foot of Grunts and Ordinary Fear of God before fronting his latest band Indoor Garden Party who joined him on Save Me In Siena.

Whey Jennings Returns Behind Bars

Whey Jennings, now 44, who fought similar demons to his grandfather Waylon who died at 64 on February 13, 2002, returns to Behind Bars on this week’s show.

Whey is nephew of Waylon and Jessie Colter’s son Shooter.

He performs Wrong For The Time from his debut album Jekyll & Hyde.

Whey also fronted our show with Jekyll & Hyde, Ten Day Run, Just Before The Dawn, Can’t Outrun A Train and with Creed Fisher on Don’t You Think This Outlaw Things Done Got Out Of Hand that was cut by Waylon as the second single on his I’ve Always Been Crazy album in 1978.

His previous EPs were Gypsy Soul in 2020 and If It Wasn’t for The Sinning in 2022.

Bri Bagwell Hits The Highway

New Mexico born latter day Texan Bri Bagwell, now 38 and a six-time Texas female entertainer of the year boomerangs to Behind Bars.

Bri created many rescue dog shelters and features her pup Whiskey in her videos.

Bagwell walked the red carpet at the Texas awards with Whiskey after being an animal rescue ranch benefactor for many years.

She performs Hit The Highway from her fifth album Corazón Cabeza.

Bri moved from New Mexico to Austin, Texas, when she was 18 and lives in New Braunfels.

Bagwell and rodeo queen Kylie Frey appeared on Nu Country with a live version of Cyndi Lauper hit Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.

Bri also fronted our show with Heroes, Asphalt & Concrete, Beer Pressure, I Can’t Be Lonely and Half As Good.

She showed a large roster of musical mentors in her rollcall for her previous Heroes video from her third album In My Defence.

Priscilla Block Heads To The Hills And Water

North Carolina singer-songwriter Priscilla Block returns to our show with a vibrant video on a scenic trip to the hills and water.

Priscilla, now 30, strutted her stuff in her second album title track Things You Didn’t See that follows debut album Welcome To The Block Party.

She cherished her buxom beauty in her previous Nu Country headlining role after being rescued from the streets of Nashville by Taylor Swift on arrival.

Block showed why she enjoys gym workouts with a difference as she led other bucolic belles on the floor before finding the door.

She sang how she prefers extra fries to exercise in her humorous homily Thick Thighs, My Bar and Good On You that also appeared on our show.

Zach Top Heads South Of Sanity

Washington born bluegrass country singer-songwriter Zach Top also returns to our show this week.

Zach, now 28, sings about playing a rodeo in Montana while his bucolic belle left him and wouldn’t answer her phone.

South Of Sanity is on his second album Ain’t In It For My Health that follows his debut disc Cold Beer And Country Music – his debut on LEO33 label.

Zach co-wrote previous single Sounds Like The Radio, produced by Carson Chamberlain and recorded over 3.5 million streams in its first week.

Top won Discovery Artist of Year at 2024 Music Row Awards and was nominated for New Artist of Year at 58th Annual CMA Awards.

Zach’s tours include Nashville historic Ryman Auditorium, Denver’s Grizzly Rose, Atlanta, Tulsa’s Cain’s Ballroom, Buckhead Theatre, Omaha Steel House and CMC Rocks Australia.

Top spent much of 2024 on the road with Dierks Bentley, Brothers Osborne, Alan Jackson, Luke Bryan and Lainey Wilson.
