John Paycheck Sprouts Songs On His Virginia Lavender Farm

John Paycheck carries on the family name on his Virginia lavender farm on his return to our show.
The U.S. Army veteran, lavender farmer and songwriter performs his new album title track More Days Behind.
More Days Behind follows previous hits Honky Tonk Blackout and Lone Stars on his album We All Have A Story.
John became an Army aviator after working as a roadie for his outlaw dad Johnny before he died in 2003.
Two major events diverted him from music.
His dad’s passing in 2003 led him to explore firefighting and technology – 9/11 spurred him to serve his country as an Army aviator and he still serves as a Reserve Army Officer in Europe.

Despite his hiatus music remained constant drawing him back after 20 years.
As a combat veteran, farmer and family man John’s return to music was fuelled by support of fellow country music legacy kids.
The CMA member and BMI songwriter’s music career is testament to his deep bond with his father.
“I have worked hard at everything I’ve ever done,” Paycheck revealed.
“Even still I know I’m lucky and fortunate. I want to make the folks who have helped me along the way proud. I want to bring honour to my family and make certain that those who love my music are happy to say they are a John Paycheck fan.”

Liam Maihi Soaks Up Whiskey Chasers

The Voice Australian Season 4 Grand Finalist Liam Maihi recalls whiskey chasers in his Nu Country debut.
He wrote Whiskey and You with his fiancé Courtney – mother of their three children.
They wrote the song while their kids slept.
Whiskey And You will be on his debut album.
Liam was raised in the NSW south coastal town Sussex Inlet by a single mum.
Between beachcombing and after-school gigs Liam’s storytelling instincts took root – watching, listening, living.
On school holidays he’d visit his dad in Sydney – a painter with an old, battered guitar.
“It was hardly ever in tune, always missing a string, but whenever he picked it up and played a song I would be in awe,” Liam recalled.

Sticktight Atkins Hits A Creek Road

Kentuckian Sticktight Atkins hits Hammonds Road in the bluegrass state on his Nu Country TV return.
He sings of moonshine whiskey, a father’s love for his daughter and southern justice in his family memories.
Hammond’s Road is on his new album that follows Hillbilly Hollywood and Cornbread Mafia.
Sticktight writes songs from growing up in South Central Kentucky, paying homage to his roots, stories from the road and making the most out of life.
Sticktight’s name came from country star John Michael Montgomery.
When visiting John at his farm, two-year-old Ernie Akins was exploring in the woods and emerged covered in sticktights.
John found it humorous and said, “Boy, we’re going to have to start calling you, Sticktight”.
Since then Sticktight stuck.
Sticktight grew up listening to Waylon Jennings, Charlie Daniels, Montgomery Gentry, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, George Thorogood and Stevie Ray Vaughan on radio.
