BRANDI CARLILE RIGHT ON TIME

Washington born six-time Grammy winning hit writer Brandi Carlile returns to Behind Bars with her new hit.

Brandi, now 40, is also in The Highwomen with Natalie Hemby, Amanda Shires and Maren Morris.

She frocked up and had a swim to celebrate her majestic new video directed by Courtney Cox.

Brandi performs Right On Time is from her seventh album In These Silent Days that is released on October 1.

In These Silent Days was conceived while Carlile was quarantined at home with long-time collaborators and bandmate twins Tim and Phil Hanseroth.

“Never before have the twins and I written an album during a time of such uncertainty and quiet solitude,” Brandi revealed of the album produced by Dave Cobb and Shooter Jennings.“I never imagined that I'd feel so exposed and weird as an artist without the armor of a costume, the thrill of an applause and the platform of the sacred stage.

“Despite all this the songs flowed through - pure and unperformed, loud and proud, joyful and mournful. Written in my barn during a time of deep and personal reckoning. There's plenty reflection but mostly it's a celebration.

“This album is what drama mixed with joy sounds like. It's resistance and gratitude, righteous anger and radical forgiveness. It's the sound of these silent days.”

In These Silent Days follows her 2018 Grammy winning album, By The Way, I Forgive You.

Carlile also produced Tanya Tucker's 27 th album While I'm Living with Shooter Jennings and penned best-selling memoir Broken Horses .

Brandi's 2007 album title track The Story and her songs Tragedy, What Can I Say, Throw It All Away and Turpentine were featured in TV drama Grey's Anatomy .

JONNY TAYLOR DIGS DEEP

West Australian wheat belt singer-songwriter Jonny Taylor is joined by wife Nicole in his Nu Country return.

Nicole danced though the bush and tended their horses before feeding them carrots and leaving her frock on a tree.

The Taylors live near Kukerin in the WA wheat belt where they filmed their video for Hippie Dress from Jonny's fourth album Dig Deep.

Hippie Dress was inspired by a chance meeting with prolific Golden Guitarist Adam Brand on tour in 2020.

Brand suggested they write the song while he was driving the bus on a seven-hour trip.

“Brandy is so good at the upbeat country rock thing, and for the last year I've been working on a really dark acoustic project because I went through a shocking mental health period a while back,” Taylor revealed.

“Brandy said ‘you're always smiling and Nicole is a ray of sunshine so why don't you write a song about that? So we joke that Brandy started writing a love song to my wife. He could see the love between us and he called to me and said. ‘bring your guitar, I've got a song idea”

Taylor triggered his return after a long hiatus.

“I needed a break from music, and I got swallowed up with building a house and getting the farm up and running and then when COVID came, it was my time to step away from music,” Jonny explained.

“I can now sit down with the guitar and be creative again because at the end of the Dig Deep album, I hit the period of ‘what do I do now?'”

Taylor also appeared on Nu Country with his Diamonds and Take It Slow videos directed by wife Nicole and dad Paul.
