        THE BAND PERRY - MANSIONS

            |

             Alabama
born siblings The Band Perry debut with the video of debut #1 hit
              If I Die Young.

The death song rocketed the trio's self-titled debut album to chart
              tops.

Kimberley Perry wrote If I Die Young, at her Greeneville
home in the East Tennessee Mountains.

That was 18 years after she wrote her first song, aged eight, about
              her deceased rabbit Beatrice.

The Band Perry have been on the road since Perry, now 27, fronted
her first band at 15 with brothers Neil, 10, and Reid, 8, as roadies.
            "We
recorded the video outside Nashville at the Two Rivers Mansion,"
              Kimberly said.
           |

      "We
shot the video two days before the floods - all the shrubbery you see
is gone now. It was the coolest day of spring. We filmed from 4 in the
morning to sundown with our favourite director David McClister. It's our
favourite song on the album. The mansion was out near Opryland - 20 minutes
from downtown Nashville. It's a beautiful property - we fell in love with
the shrubs. The video is the colour of the shrubs - the colour of the
song. It was a really wonderful place to shoot."

The album competes in stores with Til The Last Shot's Fired

      Grafton raised

Rodeo from seventh album I Love This Place.

The song is a tribute to outback troubadour Brian Young who took Troy
and his latter day guitarist and recording artist Luke Austen on the road
        in their embryonic era.

Troy toured the U.S. early this year with Gunnedah raised expat guitarist
        Tommy Emmanuel.

He also had cameos on live shows with expat superstar Keith Urban.

       JAYNE
        DENHAM - TRUCKER CHICKS

            |
          Londonderry
singer-songwriter Jayne Denham is a champion for women in trucks -
            especially those behind the wheel.

Denham and her sisters in song prove adept at driving trucks and sports
cars in the video for Trucker Chicks from her second album
            The Shape I'm In.

Jayne's song Cousin Jude, the tale of a female semi trailer
driver on her debut album Sudden Change In Weather, was a big
            hit with truckies.

Road Train Fever also expanded her trucking fan base.

So it's no surprise she has a trucking company as a sponsor - ideal
product placement, more at home in Hollyweird movies and TV series.

Jayne's face will soon adorn Wickhams Freight Line refrigerated vans
            travelling the country.

The rigs will appear at several of her shows throughout the year. |

        SUNNY COWGIRLS AND PINK GALAHS

            |
          The
Sunny Cowgirls return with their Pink Galahs filmed at a concert
            in China.

It's a long way from where Sophie and Celeste Clabburn were raised
on a sprawling sheep and wheat farm near Dunkeld in shadows of the
            majestic Grampians in northwest Victoria.

The sisters made a documentary, released with third CD Dust Will
            Settle.

They began performing as children, forming Big Dick and the Strokers
(their father's name is Richard), and jamming for friends and family.

They moved farming operations to West Australia and the sisters chose
NSW as their musical launch pad. |

      The duo reached
back to their childhood on fourth album Summer after a trip to
        Nashville.

Celeste wrote Good Spot as a tribute to her Grampians roots.

But the duo moves from the mountains to a bayside peak when they headline
Red Hill Country Festival on Sunday January 9.

They also play Whittlesea Country Festival on Sunday February 13.

JAYMES - WORKING IN A FULL HOUSE

            |
          Expatriate
New Zealand singer and pianist Steven Jaymes also expresses strident
            social comment in his music.

Jaymes performs the video for the title track of fifth album Things
            Get Better.

The multi-instrumentalist performed with and for a full house in his
            energised song.

Jaymes lives in Brisbane but writes about his travels to Spain, Japan,
            Mexico, Cuba and way beyond.

The son of a rural builder and shearer started his career as a drummer
in the family band in New Zealand.

That was in an era when he also toiled as a barn and fence builder
            and tractor driver.

Although Jaymes is on the road most of the year he has a faithful
black dog at home named Levon. |

      It's not
clear if he is named after The Band drummer Levon Helm who also played
Loretta Lynn's dad in Coalminer's Daughter and Confederate General John
Bell Hood in James Lee Burke movie In The Electric Mist.
